Tests are $50. Students testing for Green Belt or Red Belt are $75, and a new uniform is included in the testing fee.

Our grading tests start at 9:30 AM sharp! We recommend arriving between 9:00 and 9:15 AM. Students who are late will not be permitted to participate. The tests will typically take up to two-and-a-half hours.

Absolutely! We encourage family and friends to watch and support the testing candidate.

A black belt from our AmKor Coatesville gym may take between 7 and 11 years.

Everyone wants to win, but it doesn't happen every time. Some students take years before they start placing and winning. It takes courage to put yourself out there and perseverance to keep at it. Competitions amplify your strengths and expose your weaknesses. We take what we learn from the results of these tournaments and bring those lessons back to our training. Students who experience this journey are proud of what they have accomplished.

Most of our competitions are in Pennsylvania, and a few are in the Northeast. For students who are dedicated and work extra hard, we have a team sent to national and international events.

Local tournaments are about $50-75 to compete. Travel tournaments will require hotels, fuel, and tolls. Occasionally, we will have to take a flight.

Competitors who place in the top three, sometimes four, places will receive a medal or trophy for their accomplishments.

The normal events are forms, fighting, and weapons. Sometimes there may be team events or breaking. Each event gives the students the opportunity to earn another medal or trophy.
